Please note that I have amended slightly how I deal with application posts once a decision has been made on them.  So that it is (hopefully) easier to see which applicants have not yet joined the guild (if they've been accepted) - I'll be locking posts once they're resolved.

So .. If the application has been rejected or closed, I'll lock it.  If the application has been accepted, AND the applicant has joined us, then I'll lock it.  If the application has been accepted, but something happens which means the applicant will not be joining us - I'll lock it.

The only posts that remain unlocked are those that remain unresolved - they're either still in the process of being reviewed, or an accepted applicant has not yet joined the guild.

This is true up to a point .. however, if the guild member approaches us first and asks, then usually we're happy to invite the relation (or real life friend) without the need of an application form - on the following assumptions:

  1. The member in the guild has already told the potential new member all about us - there will be no surprises.

  2. The guild member vouches for the relative/real life friend and is happy that they would fit in with the guild, and takes responsibility for any misunderstandings or problems that may occur.

  3. The relation/real life friend is over 18.

  4. The relation/real life friend will, either prior to or very soon after invite to the guild, review the guild rules on this website and ensure to question anything they do not agree with or understand.  We assume that every single member of the guild has read and agreed to our guild rules.

  5. The relation/real life friend will, once they have joined, subscribe to the website and visit on a regular basis.

Having said all of the above, if the guild member does not approach us first, but the relative does .. then the default setting is that they must apply via the website

So just to clarify - if you're asked in-game for an invitation to the guild, please direct the player to this website (www.darkwolves.eu) where they can fill in the application form for us to review.  Please be aware that some people will try to get an immediate invite because:

  • "This is an alt" - always ensure that you're certain this is the case.  If you are unsure, ask them to log onto their main toon to confirm

  • "xxxxx in your guild is my brother/sister/cousin/ etc." - if this happens, they still need to apply via the website (unless it's been cleared with the GM and Officers, which would be a rare occurence)

  • "I've had an application approved" - these are usually genuine, but it's always worth checking the website to make sure.  I ALWAYS do this, unless it was for an application that I approved.

If you're ever in doubt, ask an Officer for help.  We don't mind - it's what we're here for (amongst other things)

PostPosted: 03-03-2016 5:03    Post subject: About this Forum

Welcome to the forum for new applications.  This forum is where new applications come in for us as a guild to view them, and for new applicants to keep an eye on their application and, if needed, reply to any queries raised.

All current guild members who are registered and logged into the site will be able to view all current and a lot of previous applications.  New applicants to the guild will ONLY be able to view this post (and other similar posts that are NOT application forms) and the application they personally submitted.  They will not be able to view other applications from other people until/unless they become accepted as a member of the guild.

Current guild members are welcome to make comments on new applications - these are especially welcome if you know the person applying.

People who wish to join us should fill out an application form after ensuring they are fully aware of the type of guild we are, and are sure we are the type of guild they are looking for.  We are looking for members who are looking for a long-term WoW home, not a stopping off point on their travels; we are looking for people who can be honest both with others and with themselves about what they're looking for, and their interactions in-game.

Those wishing to join should be fully aware of the following:

  1. We will not accept anyone who has not read and understood our guild rules .. if you have any questions about them, please ask.

  2. We are an 18+ guild .. meaning we only accept those under the age of 18 in exceptional circumstances.

  3. Please ensure, when filling in your character details, that you select the realm your character is on (Lightbringer or Mazrigos) .. it may not necessarily default to the correct realm.

  4. The application form is there for you to sell yourself ... you get plus points just for simply bothering to get to this stage in the process, but then submitting a minimal application lets you down at the final hurdle.

  5. Please be honest on your application form.  We can check information given, and if you give incorrect information you run the risk of being rejected.

  6. If you are applying with a character that is below level 10, please bear in mind we are unable to view this on the Armories.  We will therefore either ask for a character name/realm of a higher level character so that we can check information given, or we will wait until the character you've applied with is over level 10.  If neither is forthcoming within a reasonable length of time following submission of your application, it will be rejected/closed.
