Interested in boosting more than one character to level 90 right away? In addition to the boost you get with your Warlords of Draenor pre-purchase, you also have the option of buying additional character boosts directly through the Shop in-game. Check out the video below to learn more about how it all works:
When you pre-purchase the expansion* or purchase a standalone character boost from within the game, a Character Boost token will appear on the character-select screen in World of Warcraft. Once you purchase it through either method, you can click the token to apply your boost at any time—no need to use it right away if you’re not ready. Keep in mind that character boosts are irreversible, so it’s a good idea to make sure you’re boosting the character you really want to.
If you boost a level-60 or higher character, you’ll also get an extra bonus: both of your Primary Professions will be bumped up to 600, so you’ll be an instant pro at your chosen callings. If you’re boosting an existing character and want to change professions, just make sure you train the professions you want before you apply the boost. Also, if you’re not quite level 60 yet (but thiiiiiiis close), you might want to consider holding on to your boost token until you earn those last couple of levels—your boost will still be waiting for you when you’re ready.
Check out the Character Boost web page, watch our video guide, or read the support article for lots more information.

re: Level 90 Boost - the worst thing Blizz have ever done?

So of course I got my WoD pre-order in as soon as I saw it on my FB feed, and then spent a good hour or so deliberating on who deservered the 90 boost and whether I should wait until such and such was 60 for the profession boost or not (I am too impatient for that) and then decided that as I really dislike levelling Warlocks and its the only class I havent got to 90 that I should boost my lock up to 90..... my level 24 pink pigtailed Gnome warlock on Thunderhorn (seeing as Lightbringer is my one haven and I like to have a least one I can still play around with levelling on there!).
OMG its awful, I can see now why so many people were up in arms about it, you get boosted with no money, no talents, glyphs or clue on how to play this class. Yes you have green ilvl 483 gear and nice big bags...oh and 280% flight speed which was a nice surprise, and are 'born' straight onto Twilight Isle to go open boxes for nice purples, but with no idea how to play the class, no clue on rotation or how to use pets or even what spec to use.
I suppose in WoD you will have those extra 10 levels to learn how to play and all of that but the amount of boosted 90s (and they are obvious) materialising on TI was scary, how many of those are those people from PuGs who need to learn how to play with others, let alone play without standing in fire? My fear of PuGs has just quadrupled, and it was bad before.
I decided after a couple of hours opening boxes and getting my butt handed to me on TI to go and say hello to the Tillers, at least that way it was low level quests to get me into this class, with the hope of earning some cash (Luckily she is not my only 90 on that realm otherwise she would have been stranded for a long time glyph and gemless). Needless to say after about 3 hours I was managing about 30k dps, had read up on noxxic and WoWhead etc how to play Demonology Warlock (dont ask me why I chose that one but I like pets...) but I still feel its is going to be a long long time before this little one is anywhere ready for raiding even if she is geared.
God help us in LFR and PuGs for a while, I am not looking forward to this....
(oh and bear in mind I have actually got my Warlock on Lightbringer up to 69 all by herself and still have no clue at 90!!)
Oh that doesn't bode well .. I had been planning on boosting a warlock to 90, too! I'm going to try and resist the urge for a bit tho .. currently I have all 11 slots taken on LB, so my intention is to hope that we get connected soon and then add the warlock to the other realm (so he/she can still be in our horde guild) .. I just know that if I pre-order now, my fingers are going to be twitching to press that button!!
Did you get the mount and pet too?
Good point about LFR and LFD ... *shudders* I think I'll avoid those for a while
Yes I went for the special edition, a little treat for myself after enduring a god awful injection into my knee joint on Friday and a horrendous weekend as a result (felt like I'd had another knee op!) anyway, I love the mount, like an armored version of the Raven Lord and the little pet of course :)
The ilvl 483s arent vendorable which is a shame seeing as you replace them almost immediately but it is nice to have a full set of 22 slot bags and nice of blizz to empty them and then post you all the old stuff you had back to you. And I honestly wasnt expecting the flying at all, those little things would save you 1000s of gold!
I do sort of regret not levelling to 60 for the profession boost but to be honest its so easy to level a profession these days so I figured it would give me something to do and would rather just miss out all those levels. I do have a level 60 monk and a level 60 DK and a level 54 Shamen to choose from on that realm lol so I am a bit of a dunce really but I figured Monks get the daily perk for level boosting, i quite enjoy playing Shamen and the DK is my banker so in my head it made sense to choose the Warlock, plus I am now quite enjoying getting to know her and got up to a whole 50k dps today! I just wish my demon's would stop complaining all the time, miserable bunch they are...
I saw a lot of the achis pinging up when I boosted my new 90 for the 2 lvl 90s (Dynamic Duo?) and 3/4 level 90s and double agents so I do think a lot of people were boosting obviously their 2nd or 3rd toon at that level.
Oh and on a completely separate note the Alliance Brawlers guild is way cooler than the Horde version inside Deeprun Tram!! No fair Blizzard!
Oh now there's an idea .. I could use it to finally get a level 90 Alliance!!! *sigh*
Not sure I can justify the expense anyway .. at least until next pay day :p I may have to wait til Kad is in a good mood .. oooh .. it's Mothers day soon!!! *grins*
Ooh just noticed a little emote that the Dread Hatchling does if you have it out summoned when you mount the Dread Raven it makes a little noise and puts love hearts on its head like you gave it a pet treat....obviously it loves its mummy bird... cute :D
I never much cared about CE versions of WoW expansions, but the Dread Raven mount and pet are just so cool/adorable/rugged/sweet... I might just persuade the bf to add his CE to MY account - he has all CEs except Vanilla, but he hasn't been playing since shortly after MoP came out. I doubt he'll let me have the code, and I don't really feel like getting a second copy of something I otherwise won't use (artbooks, soundstracks, what's the use of having two of each?), but I can always try to persuade him.
The level boost, I'm a wee bit sad it's already available and purchasable without requiring WoD - it really lowers its value. And it means that as long as you're willing to shell out, you can skip just about all of the content. There should've been some requirements/restrictions/limitations to prevent grief at endgame level.
(also, I'm a bit baffled how they converted $60 to €50...)
Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.
