re: Clarifications and Reminders

Yes folks, it seems like it's that time again ... time to remind people of our rules!

Recently we have had a few invites to the guild that have been made in error .. someone in the guild has been contacted out of the blue by a random person, and they've ended up inviting them into the guild.

Our policy is that ALL potential new members must fill in an application form on this site.  It is then able to be viewed, verified and replied to.

The reason we do this is in order to reduce Drama in the guild .. it weeds out those who can't be bothered to fill out forms, who just want a quick invite to see what they can steal or beg off people, those who are obviously looking for a completely different type of guild, those who mislead or lie, and those who have been with us before and have caused drama and bad blood in the past.

We pride ourselves on a lack of drama in the guild .. and this simple process is a big reason why that is so.

The only reason someone should be invited into the guild without an application form, is if they are known personally, in "real life" by a current member.  That way the guild member will have been able to assess whether both parties would be a good fit.

If in doubt, please ask .. but if anyone approaches you for a guild invite, unless they say "I'm an alt of [current guild member]", please ask them to fill in an application form on this website.  If you have any problem with this, please simply refer them to either myself or one of the officers.

On a related matter .. please be aware that I and my officers are around to deal with any problems.  We deal with the drama, the organising, the admin and all the stuff that goes along with that.  We deal with the majority of this quietly and in the background.  When something happens that doesn't seem right to you, please let us know IN PRIVATE so that we can deal with it quietly.  Again .. we pride ourselves on our lack of drama .. which can often be caused by guild members "trying to help" when things go wrong.  It is very nice that you try to help, but basically it just makes matters more complicated to deal with.

If a problem arises in a raid group, then the raid leader will deal with it.  If you are unhappy with something, or unhappy with the way things are handled, speak privately to the raid leader (bearing in mind that, if you have noticed something, others probably have too, so the raid leader may have to deal with multiple whispers at once) - or if it can, let it wait until after the raid/a break in the raid.

Please ensure that, prior to any complaints made, the information you are basing the complaint on is correct and verified (and provable, if necessary).

If you feel you can help the leadership team (myself, Kad, Jay and Hoe), please contact us in private .. do not suddenly decide to take matters into your own hands.  And certainly not when it is something that doesn't need dealing with immediately.

Indeed .. although obviously the Light Wolves leadership team is slightly different .. hopefully we should have something up shortly on the site relating to that
