Today I have been through and hopefully assigned all orphaned characters to their rightful owners. You may have therefore received PM's and/or emails telling you a character has been added to the guild website. It was always there .. just that it hadn't been assigned to you.
Assigning characters is useful because, when the website does an automatic update with the Armories, it removes any characters that are no longer in the guild (and, of course, adds new ones), and then if there are no further characters assigned to a particular website member, it marks that member for removal from the guild website. Therefore, if you only have one character assigned to you, and you delete or move that character, the website feels the urge to suggest your removal. This way, this happens less often, which means I'm less likely to remove your website access by accident 
If anyone finds that either a character has not been assigned to them, or has been assigned incorrectly, please let me know.
I have also removed a few members from the website who had no characters assigned to them, and I could not find them on the in-game roster. Hopefully these are simply people who have left, but the website glitched and didn't remove them, or people who had an application accepted but then never actually arrived in guild. However, if you find you've been removed by accident, please let me know 
As a reminder, by the way, when people apply to join the guild there is a requirement to give the character name and realm that they are applying with. Now that we are a Connected Realm, this occasionally leads to mistakes. If you apply to the guild saying your character is on one realm, and your application is accepted, the website automatically adds you FOR THAT REALM. If you have given the wrong realm, next time the website does a roster update it finds a "second" you .. which leads to fun and games on the admin side of things.
Please note, then, that if this has happened to you, you will probably find at some point you will receive an email/PM telling you your character has been removed from the guild. Hopefully this is the incorrect character and then, when I get round to it, I'll be able to assign the correct one. Feel free to give me a nudge if things don't seem right, though.
