re: Roster Removals

I have this morning had a quick look through the roster and had a brief clear-out of some of those members who had not been online for quite some time.

The following have been removed for long-term inactivity:

Kodoganarh, Nihn, Kuppelhut, Alyessa/Modena, Bowjob, Epicness

With the exception of Alyessa, none of these characters showed any alts or other characters attached to them, however, if any of them ARE your alt, feel free to speak to me in order to get an invite back.  Please be aware that it is your responsibility to ensure that all of your alt characters have your "main" noted in the roster notes.

The following members have been moved to the MiA rank and their alts removed:

Sethai, Tankspot, Cherielle

They are welcome to have their alts re-invited to the guild should they return.

re: Roster Removals

Did you find out about bubble leaving? He kinda did it on the spot in guild chat and I didn't think to tell you. I assume someone with more common sense did already but if not there you go

re: Roster Removals

No .. last time I checked, he was still in guild (this morning, I think) .. I did notice he left with his Shaman.  At that time I just assumed he was moving a low level alt to another guild to be with a friend.  I have just checked though, and his Paladin is also in the same guild now.

Perhaps he took me seriously when he was complaining about his "low" output, and I suggested we were dragging him down to our level

I may find out more later, but I would assume it's just one of those things where we didn't quite provide what he was looking for in a guild .. it happens.

re: Roster Removals

If i remember correctly it was about him wanting to go to a bit more serious raiding guild.

re: Roster Removals

Well how weird ... at the end of our last raid (or perhaps during) I'm pretty sure we had a conversation on Teamspeak about that very subject, and I thought he said he was happy with the way we raided.  Unless I'm mixing him up with someone else .. I thought there were two in the group saying they'd done the more serious stuff and preferred the more laid back approach.  But hey ho .. there you go

It is one of those things that, often, people don't know (despite how many times we try to explain) how "casual" we are at raiding.  Of course it is easy enough to do the homework .. we have the number of boss kills and progression right on the front page .. perhaps some just don't believe it

Personally, considering the number of new bosses we've downed recently, I don't think we've done too badly at all

I remember you saying you were going to remove that Kuppelhut character. I miss it on this list!

If you mean you can't see it on the original post .. It is there:

I do suspect, however, that there are more alts of that person still in the guild .. I checked after each removal to ensure that the guild number of accounts went down (ie, that I'd removed every alt of each of those members), but for that one, it did not.  So I don't know who's alt it is, but it's not in the guild any longer

re: Roster Removals

Oh herpderp, I compeletely missed that. I probably blocked it, haha.

I remember that person having another toon in the guild as well, yes. I'll log hordeside for a bit before going to bed so I can check the roster and see if I recognise the other one.

Edit: okay, found it... the main's called Drolletje - I remember it was another Dutch name that I slightly rolled my eyes at, but it's not as offensive as the already removed one. They have 2 more alts in the guild labelled, as far as I can remember there weren't any more.

Ah okay .. thank you.  Good memory!!

Well it's their own fault for not making sure it was marked .. I'll check out the others and see when they were last online, and see if they're eligible for removal, but as the name of that one is offensive, I would suggest we don't allow that one back in unless it is changed.

re: Roster Removals

Just on the topic of bubblehurth you can't trust what people say u front. He's not the only guild member to appear happy but talk behind your back about the flaws he's noticed about our raiding style. Some other people who left had frequent rivalry conversations with me about the inadequacy of raiding professionalism. I won't name names but you can to ably guess a few. Unfortunately when this happens I don't know what to do about it as they say it privately for a reason and breaking their trust seems wrong. But just so you know outward appearances can't always be trusted.

re: Roster Removals

I am not going to get into some drama about rumours and "he said she said" ... it's not going to happen.  We have a very open policy here and I really don't think I'm that scary .. if people have a complaint, or something to say, they can come say it to either myself or one of the officers.

If they feel that they are unable for whatever reason to complain (to me or the officers NOT guild members) about how we do things, then they have two options .. put up with it, or leave.  Complaining about stuff to guild members is basically just an effort to cause drama and I won't stand for it.

I do agree that sometimes our raids are perhaps a little slower than they need to be .. "unprofessional" ... WE ARE NOT A PROFESSIONAL TEAM!!

If there is a genuine problem, then talking behind backs is not going to solve it.  It's going to make it worse.  If people feel that our raids are not run well, and the majority feels that way .. I'll not run them .. I'm quite happy to hand those reins on to someone else or just simply cancel them completely.

If we get to the point where I have to take the "drama free" part off our advert, that will be a very sad day .. so stop it.

I am going to lock this thread .. it does no good.  We do not do back biting and bitching.  We are ALL old enough to do better and it is not acceptable.

If you want to bitch, go find a guild of 15 yr olds.

*Edit ... for information purposes I contacted Bubblehurth after he left .. he had no reason to be anything other than honest with me and he always seemed up front with what he had said to me personally before, and he stated that the reason he left was because he had decided that casual raiding was not for him.  He said there was no problem with the guild and he enjoyed the experience.

His previous guild prior to us was a much more serious guild, and he was told up front that we were not that type of guild.

... as an addendum to this, and having spoken to Lee privately about this matter, it seems what was said was not what he THOUGHT he'd said.  The three members he was referring to all left the guild some time ago .. one because he wanted to do more hardcore raiding but is now in a guild that split and took the majority of it's hardcore raiders to another realm (but not him); one because they apparently didn't like me and objected to our tactics on a specific Samsara-run raid in the last expansion who coincidentally ended up in the same guild and doesn't appear to have raided for some time; and another who just wanted to try out a more casual raiding playstyle and was warned several times that we were more casual than he was used to.

I have stressed that more care needs to be taken over what is said, as the post implied something a lot different to that.  It might also be time to "let go" of what people who left the guild think and be more concerned about what those actually remaining, think
