After consideration and discussions with the officers, I have decided to temporarily close recruitment for Dark Wolves.
As you will have seen, we've had a large influx recently of both new and returning members and I feel that if we take any more new members at the moment it would have a detrimental affect on our guild identity.
Normally we have a "passive" recruitment policy (recruitment adverts placed on the in-game /guildfinder, on the Blizzard forums and one or two other locations, together with word of mouth), occasionally enhanced by active recruitment (primarily when I respond to a request for a suitable guild on the Blizzard forums). Many of you will have joined via one of these routes.
I have now added notes to several locations stating that we are currently no longer accepting applications for new members.
On a related matter - firstly, welcome to all those new and returning members who have just started their journey in Legion with us.
I'd like to ask all those who have just started playing in-guild with us over the last month or so to please take some time to ensure you know our guild rules - I know they're fairly long and I'm not expecting you to know them word for word, as long as you know roughly the content and the "feel" of them, and therefore what is available for review should you need clarification.
Please also take the time to get to know our more regular members - remember it was your decision to join us - your "job" is to integrate and play nice with our regular members, not to attempt to turn the guild into something it isn't. If that happens, the guild would no longer be the type of guild you wanted to join in the first place
If you're not sure how things are done, please do ask (nicely!).
Please also note that the guild is made up of a lot of different people from different backgrounds, locations and experiences - please don't pre-judge or assume anything - make an effort to understand other people's points of view and, if you can't say anything nice, don't say it at all. What you say in guild chat can be seen by everyone in guild chat - just because your friend who you've known for years "knows you don't mean it" certainly does not mean everyone else has the same knowledge.
Guild chat is text .. you have the time prior to typing what you say to consider how it may be perceived by others who perhaps don't know you.
Finally - although official recruitment is now temporarily closed, I'm still happy to consider the possibility of new members joining if you know them personally (a friend or family member). If this is the case, please let me know - because I'm not quite sure how the website will handle applications now I've (in theory) switched them off!
