re: Looking Forward in Legion

Blizzard have been telling us what we can expect going forward in this expansion - and there seems to be a lot!
Patch 7.1.5 (a "small" patch) is coming to the test realms soon and will include:
- Pandaria Timewalking Dungeons
- Brawlers guild re-opens, with new challenges and new rewards, including a mount.
- Micro-holidays - teeny tiny holiday events that will only last a day or so with fun activities.
- Minor updates to Blades Edge Arena.
- Class updates.
Patch 7.2 (a "big update"):
- A continuation of the Class Hall campaign with more quests, a new faction to help and new World Quests.
- Legion Assaults - reminiscent of the demon invasions prior to the expansion launch, these will culminate in a new three person scenario.
- Flying! Completing the achievements will allow you to fly in Legion, and net you your own class mount.
- New raid zone - Tome of Sargeras.
- New dungeon - Cathedral of Eternal Night.
- PvP Brawls:
- Southshore vs. Tarren Mill – Dive into this classic large-scale game of team deathmatch.
- Instant-Cap Warsong Gulch – You don’t need to protect your own flag. Just grab and go!
- Packed House: 15 v 15 Arena – Who needs elbow room?
- Gravity Lapse – Defy the law of gravity in this brawl.
- Winter Arathi Basin – Low visibility and iced over waterways await you.
- Eye of the Horn – Mounted ram fights are the new PvP.
- Artifact Updates - gain more levels and new traits.
- Dungeon updates - current dungeons will be updated to keep them relevant, and Karazhan will be split into two for Mythic.
You can see all about this in greater detail on the Blizzard post.

I am excited.
Quite a few interesting things. And thinking about that Arathi Bashin on winter, I may PVP again. I become averse to it when at 60 I farmed the tokens with my human warrior to get the black cat (which I cannot use with my orc :-( ). Alliance on Shadowsong used to lose most matches, especially Alterac. That was painful.
Anyway, Artifact!!!!, Quests!!!, Dungeons!!!, Factions!!!, Mounts!!!. 7.2 looks like a good patch.

I am intrigued to hear more about Pet Battle Dungeons...I mean what?! I have this vision of role playing as a bunny(Rogue) rabbit running a dungeon with a fox (Melee DPS), frog (healer), dragon (ranged DPS) and robot (Tank)
But I wish they would address the imbalance in profession progression, I have given up on alchemy but my leather worker seems to have no problems. For a casual non raider, non dungeoner its a little out of whack I feel so maybe they need to think of a way to allow those with disabilities or challenges to have a smoother way to get on with this? I dunno...

oooh I missed the bit about pet battle dungeons ... weird!
I completely agree about the professions thing. When we spoke about it way back when, I obviously didn't understand. I thought that you could get ALL recipes (or at least, the ones that were "core") without going into instances etc. I thought the only reason to go into instances was to get an upgraded version of them.
I'm *fairly* sure I've not had to go into any dungeons (so far) to get any tailoring stuff (although apparently I'll need to go into the karazhan one to get the new bag), but my pally was stymied virtually straight away for her alchemy flasks. That just seems wrong. I think at the very least, for those "core" patterns, you should have the chance for those to pop as a reward for doing the relevant types of world quests.
Quite frankly, the majority of the tailoring patterns were completely useless almost straight away, anyway - but alchemy ones are relevant throughout the patch so it seems unfair to withhold those.
Having said that, Jol (or anyone else), I've spoken to a few people who said they'd be very happy to help you spam a few of the dungeons you need to get the relevant recipes. It also might be the only way I'll allow my paladin to be dragged in as a tank - I don't mind tanking, but I'm not very good at working out directions or where to go, and for some reason everyone always expects the tank to know the route :p

I will be happy to help out too both as tank and dps. nothing worse than to be held back by an instance for your profession.
regarding tailoring I think you need to go to violet hold heroic to continue that or is it enchanting, cant remember, just know that I have it on my lock who has both of those profs, as usually people have :-)

Thanks all that would be awesome to go through some instances, I did go in one the other day, I am so nervous about pulling mobs I feel i can't cast anything! will have to try to corral people when we are all online or maybe I can put something in the guild calendar?

Either is fine.
Don't worry too much about pulling extra mobs by accident - one of my favourite words when I'm in shadow is "oops" :P
Actually .. I went into a mythic pug group the other day - nice bunch of people although didn't stop for much - I was in as healer and accidentally pulled a whole bunch. My "oops" was met with a "no worries" from them. In the days of hunter barrage, "oops" seems to happen a lot - people are used to it :p

Also with the new RNG based tab targeting system where you never target the closest mob directly in front of you, I have had a few ooops's on my lock when tab-dotting. That happens and usually you live through it. :-)

Oh tell me about it .. I was out doing WQ's yesterday on my shadow priest and it took forever, because I kept tab targetting and hitting some random mob miles away rather than one of those already hitting me .. completely mad. I thought it had been fixed, but I guess not.

When legion was released i was very happy with the variety of things that was added: class campains, world q, new pet challenges, ... however one thing annoyed me after a while.
Same as Jolinaar I'm annoyed about the forced dungeon quest in almost every aspect of legion.
class campaigns, proffs quests, mission quests always seem to end up with dungeons to do and even the dino questchains and flying achievements forces you to even complete a raid. The last few years in wow i gave up on dungeons and raiding since i just wanted to relax in the evening after a stressful day at work, but legion seems to go against this.
As pugging is a no go for me totally, i even took up healing as a second specc so we could prepare doing dungeons with a couple of real life friends even though i don't have any experience as pala healer at all.
unfortunately we were lacking a tank and kinda gave up the idea of doing some after a while.
since my paladin campaign required me to do vh and blackrook hold, i managed at some point to join a guid party and finished them. But meanwhile again my questlog is full of dungeon and raid quests to do.
so if you need some melee dps to do some normal dungeons with guildies you can count me and my bf darkhide in. If needed i can also heal with keig, but lacking experience on that.
certain weeks are a no go for me as then i'm standby for work every evening and weekend, but the weeks i'm not standby i can join.

wait .. you need to complete a raid in order to get the flying pre-requisites? That's just bonkers. If that is the case, and it's just something like Normal Emerald Nightmare, we can set up guild boosting runs if needed in order for people to complete it.

In part one you will need to go to emerald nightmare and kill xavius to finish the good samaritan (http://www.wowhead.com/achievement=11124/good-suramaritan) which is part of the loremaster legion in pathfinder part one.
http://www.wowhead.com/quest=43362/the-stuff-of-dreams#comments is the requirement needed.
But that is the only instance/raid from what I can see and read. I believe I also still need it on Blackweed while running mindlessly around in suramar city to try and finish the rest, collecting mana shards to the uprising pusher that needs more and more mana shards to help out. Thank god that I am a tank, makes life easier when you are spotted by a gazillion guards.

Ahh right. That seems a little unfair, but then I guess some of these meta achievements often require some raiding or PvP - at least it can be done in LFR so not too bad.
