i'm not on discord, and however much i agree with this point of view, i feel this is not the way that blizard are going, they have given no indication that silvanus is a "grey" character, they are painting her as another garrosh.
personally i am a fan of the ender's game method of winning wars. strike first, and strike hard enough that the foe cannot ever retaliate.

Unfortunately I think that it would be a very short game of "World of Warcraft" if they employed that tactic ;-) Perhaps from Sylvanas's point of view, that was what she was attempting, in a way .. but we know that won't work, because we know the game continues ... 
I do applaud Blizzard in a way .. they're writing a storyline for a computer game that has been running for many many years, and still manages to get players really involved and invested in the story. So much so that people feel very strongly about the characters and what they do. From a personal point of view .. I'm just wanting to know what happens next .. I can't imagine many in the horde, especially the likes of the shaman and the druids, are going to be happy at what she did ..

True, i was wondering what horde druids also think of killing wisps, seeing as how they're supposed to be sacred.
The one thing i didn't like was Saurfang, he's normally so clear about what path his honor takes him, if that makes sense.

I actually rather liked Saurfang. He's obviously conflicted, as he's honour-bound to do as his warchief commands, but when those commands feel dishonourable he's finding it difficult to work out what to do. Currently he's giving the impression that he's still following orders (at least, when she's there to watch!), but I'm not sure how much longer he'd do that.
Having said that .. pretty sure Sylvanas herself was regretting her decision with the tree .. just one or two moments where she said or did something that gave that impression. She obviously has a few issues she needs to work out .. a therapist would have been a better route though!

*Note .. as some of the wowhead information is from the short stories included in the Collectors Edition .. don't read if you're not wanting to see that content yet. I *think* what they have put on from the short stories is basically just fleshing out what we have already experienced in-game (assuming you've run through the new Darkshore quests to get the mount) - and in fact some of that information was originally meant to be in-game, however, they removed and replaced it. I don't know what else, if anything, the stories themselves include.
For those who aren't getting the Collectors Edition, Wowhead believe you will still be able to read the short stories online soon.

might want to add that there are spoilers in that wowhead post for those that don't want to know yet. at least until next week i assume. kinda want to get that books and collectors edition now for the better lore :p

Done. Although hopefully it was fairly obvious anyway, as I referred to the short stories from the CE in the original post 
I must admit, I'm a little disappointed that, in order to actually get the full story, you're expected to view content outside of the game itself - be it videos, books, comics, etc. I don't mind the books where they flesh out what happens in a minor way - but when what happens in-game makes little sense until you go and buy/read something external, that feels a bit unfair.
Having said that .. I suppose as just a cog in the machine, our characters get to know little of the ins and outs of what is going on, so from that point of view it makes sense :p
Blizzard do have a message they put up a while ago where, if you've already bought the normal or digital deluxe edition, and then go on to buy the CE as well .. as long as you use the CE code before the end of the year, they'll refund you the cost of the original version you bought.
I checked out the CE again .. you'll be able to see the books online for free at some point, so the only other thing you get is the double sided sigil and a soundtrack (which I'm sure you'll be able to download at some point!). Plus, of course, the fact that you have the physical box ...

i will clarify my stance, i have no problem with us being the bad guys, my problem is that i fear that in being bad guys that the horde becomes the whipping boys of the setting, and that we have another warchief killed (and one of the best written characters in the series, up to this point), even worse if they make us do it as a raid or dungeon

I'm hoping that doesn't happen .. they've already said that Sylvanas is NOT going to be Garrosh 2.0 ... it will be interesting to see how things pan out though.

haha, it's not that we're "bad guys", it's just that the horde solve most of their problems through unbridled violence :)
