re: Guild Reorganisation - leavers, recruitment, raiding future
on 18-12-2018 9:53
As some of you will probably know by now, we've had a few members (around a dozen) take the brave step to leave us (some with all characters, some with just one or two) to create a new, more hardcore, raiding guild.
This will cause a little bit of admin and potentially some re-organisation (for example we will take another look at whether or not we continue using the Healer/Tank rotas) but should hopefully not really affect us in the long term. It does mean that our decision recently to re-open recruitment was the correct one, as we will now have more space for raiders if they wish to join. It's also quite a good time as everything is always a bit quiet during this time and we'll be considering paring back the raiding over the Christmas period in order to do family stuff, relax and get drunk (oh wait .. we do that anyway!). It hopefully should also give us more time to put into recruitment as people realise there's only so much turkey they can stare at, and start looking at recruitment posts ;-)
For those who have taken characters out to join the new guild, a few words, firstly from an admin point of view (those who have contacted me will have already be aware of some of these, but obviously there are quite a few of you who haven't):
- If you are intending on leaving completely .. please do ensure you remove all your alts or, if you would like me to do it, please let me know. This ensures the roster doesn't get clogged any more than it already does with inactives.
- If you are leaving with the character classed as your guild "main" with us, but leaving other characters in the guild, please let us know which of the remaining characters you would prefer to be known as your new "main" in the guild.
- Please check any forthcoming guild events and, if you are signed to them, ensure you either remove your name, or you are signed with a character that remains in the guild and that you come online, prepared, as usual, at the normal time.
- Please ensure you're aware of the guild rules in respect of returning to the guild (if you're taking all characters out) and guild vault use. I'd also suggest a quick peruse of this section to ensure it is adhered to.
Finally, we wish you all luck with the new venture. If we don't see you in guild, we hope you have a great Christmas and New Year, and Santa brings you everything you're hoping for ;-)

I am certainly not a hardcore raider, i make lots of mistakes but try to do my best
That is what i like in the dark wolves guild, no abuse if mistakes are made.
So i will surely say!

as the saying goes, "to err is human" ... all we can do is our best. Happy to still have you on board, Vamps ;-) (for those who would like abuse, we can provide that at an additional fee ;-) )

I haven't been home from work while all this has going on, but I get what Lieng means in his post, at the least you should expect people to meet up prepared on raid night.
when that is said, then I hope that we will still have a good raid core and not too many from that old core has left. That would be a shame, because I really felt that even though we were taking it casual, that it was a good core we had in our raids. Being a semi hardcore raider in the past, never got that server first kill :-(, it is not something i miss and I really hope that the new guys will pick up the good manners and be ready when they go for raiding. If all are ready and have at least gemmed/enchanted/flasked etc plus watching tactics on youtube, if everyone are that, then there are room for mistakes, that we all do once in a while.

I agree, Blackweed .. ironically though some who like others to adhere to high standards, don't necessarily themselves .. so self-honesty is always a must as well ;-) (not meaning yourself there, ofc!).
I don't think those leaving will have a great effect on us overall. The majority were those who, although contributed well when they joined us, didn't necessarily join us regularly. We had a run on Wednesday that included none of the characters that left/were leaving, although did include some alts .. it was a good, smooth run 8/7 heroic and we only stopped due to time constraints. Those who left/were leaving on their "mains", who joined on their alts, who did of course contribute to the raid, didn't outshine the rest of us at all, and wouldn't have caused a problem if they weren't there. None of them were enchanted in the best enchants.
Not to dismiss their contribution .. but more to make the point that it won't have a negative impact in the short, or long, term, to Dark Wolves raiding.

Unfortunately, despite my links to the various relevant parts of the guild rules, it's come to light that we've had some stealing take place by two (now ex-) members of the guild. One of those claims that the other used his account in order to log in and remove items from the vault.
These include large stacks of herbs, gems, range weapon "enchants", etc. One member had already been removed .. yet apparently used the other persons account to continue to log in to steal. That second person has also now been removed from the guild. They have been reported to Blizzard as account sharing is against the ToU (working on the assumption one is NOT the parent of the other!).
Can I please remind guild members of the guild rules relating to the guild vault .. which basically boil down to (a) anything placed in the guild vault is a permanent donation to the guild (ie, it's not a personal store house ... no backsies!) and (b) when you remove anything from the vault, it should be for personal use only of the character removing the item. If there's any question or doubt, feel free to ask.
Some leeway in respect of vault removals can be given in certain circumstances .. we can even remove and provide you with items you need, if you ask and we agree ... but stealing is a definite no-no. This includes, but is not restricted to, removing for other people; to sell on the Auction House; to provide stock for your own/someone else's guild vault; to vendor.
