re: Changes to Guild Ranks
on 15-11-2010 11:12
Further to discussions in the forums and in-game some time ago, it has been agreed that we should change the way the guild ranks work a little bit. Currently every character is treated as completely seperately and has had to progress through the ranks regardless of the rank of the "main" character. This does have an impact in two ways ....
Firstly, it makes it much more of an effort to keep the roster moving, and characters in their relevant ranks, promoting when necessary.
Secondly, it means that regardless of where the "main" is, any new (to the guild) characters have to start from the bottom rank, with all the restrictions tied to that, such as reduced guild vault privileges. This seems a little unfair considering many of the vault contents are ideal for new and levelling characters.
The ranks are therefore going to change as follows:
All members who have reached the "Wolf" or "Grey Wolf" rank with at least one character will have their "main" placed in a rank named "Wolf". This rank is the equivelant of the current "Grey Wolf".
All members who have a character placed at the new "Wolf" rank will have ALL of their alts placed in the "Wolf Alt" rank. This rank will have identical permissions and abilities as the Wolf rank.
In the future, any new member, who has alts in the guild at that time, who reaches the rank of Wolf, will have their alts promoted to the Alt rank, although this may be carried out at a seperate time.
This change means it is vitally important for ALL alt characters to have a mention on their public note of their main character - not only to enable them to be placed in the correct rank, but also in order to identify them quickly should a members account be hacked.
Promotion through the ranks below Wolf prior to any members character getting to that rank will be treated as it is currently.
