First Cataclysm Guild Raid Boss Down

Congratulations to everyone for all their hard work and effort in helping to get the first guild raid boss down of the new expansion - here's hoping many more follow soon!

Can I please remind anyone wishing to raid to check what sort of stats and gear they need in order to help us progress - feel free to ask in guild for hints and directions to useful resources ... and remember there is a huge host of information on this site - in the forums (various class raid gearing guides), the wiki (levelling guides, macros guides, etc) and in the Game Tools section where you can find links to all sorts of useful websites.

Please also check that you have the various necessary addons for your class - Deadly Boss Mods and Decursive (if relevant) being two of the main ones, but you will also need to set up Ventrilo in order to hear strategy discussions and mid-fight information.

*hangs head in shame* I used to have decursive but when i got my new laptop i neglegted to reinstall it, just assumed the skulls appearing on healbot were the curse addon....sorry

Anyway really glad we did it, lets hope the damn is broken and we get a flood of bosses dying now

I honestly wasn't aiming that at any one person .. just a general "nudge" really - especially to those who haven't actually started raiding yet but want to - there seems to be a bit of general confusion about what is required for raiding in terms of gear, stats, etc.

As I said yesterday in guild chat, I don't think there is anything specific (like a gear-lockout) stopping me taking people on raids who are completely undergeared and unprepared, in theory - yet in practice it reduces the chances massively of the entire team being able to bring down a boss ... and they're hard enough as it is!

Whether or not the people who should take note actually visit the website is another thing completely!

Besides ... it gives me an opportunity to advertise the various cool bits of the site
