Patch 4.3 - New Raid and Dungeons

A wealth of information has come out in the last week or so regarding patch 4.3, which has just been placed on the Public Test Realm. I've brought together some of the major changes below.

Raid Finder



The raid finder is going to work similarly to the current Dungeon Finder at the moment - you can queue alone or in a group. Raid groups will ONLY be 25 man raids and will occupy their own "pug" tier in terms of difficulty and loot. You can enter the raid finder as many times as you want in a week, however, if you a present at a boss kill that you have already seen killed that week, you will be automatically passed on loot.

It seems that achievements, mounts and titles, etc, will NOT be able to be gained from the raid finder - those must be gained through the standard normal or heroic versions of the raid.

It is being advertised as a way for those who aren't able to get into a raid group any other way, to raid, and also an easy way to learn fights and gain extra gear for groups who normally wouldn't use it.

There will be an ilevel requirement prior to being able to access this function.

Dragon Soul Raid Preview



There is an overview of the new raid arriving with patch 4.3 over on the Blizzard Blog, giving a background of the various bosses and a bit of a tease over the last fight with Deathwing himself!

Patch 4.3 Heroic 5 Man Instances



3 new heroic instances will be provided in the next patch, similar to the final ones in the previous expansion in that they are linked - you must access them in order. From what I have seen, it appears that these three instances will be of a higher ilevel/difficulty than the current Troll instances and will occupy their own section on the Looking for Dungeon interface. The Troll instances will be combined with the current "normal" heroics, although players will still need to have the correct ilevel of gear in order to access them.
