re: Website Useage

I realise that, generally, I'm preaching to the converted here - because if you're seeing this and you've not been prompted to actually come here, this message isn't aimed at you
However ... If you have finally gotten around to visiting this site after quite some time, I'd like to ask you to try to spend just a very small fraction of your spare time checking in with this site.
You only need to log in for a minute every day, or every couple of days, just to see if anything has been added to this News section or the forums. It is obvious if a new News item is up, and the most recent posts in the forum are right here on the front page too - so you don't even have to switch to another page - just quickly open up this page on your browser, quick glance, and boom, you're done.
Now .. you may ask why - if its only going to take a minute, what is the point? The point is .. there may be nothing change for a day or so. That doesn't mean that, on the next day, there isn't a ton of new stuff added, new information, new announcements, new forum posts.
I can understand it if you know for a fact it won't be useful to you - if you log into WoW, play the game, never interact with anyone, never ask any questions, never join a raid or instance run and don't care about what happens within the guild as a whole.
But I really don't think there are many in Dark Wolves who fit into that category.
As we have a lot of members, it is not worth my time to announce something in guild, because in every single case, not everyone will be there. I am not going to announce things over and over again. I'm not going to whisper people individually to keep them up to date with news. Which is why anything that I think EVERYONE should know will be posted here. On this website.
Of course, at some point, some of the announcements on the website will probably filter through to those who didn't know, in game ... but not all. And the News items have a time limit. Once they are more than a few weeks old, they go off the front page and, in order to see them, you have to root through the forums for them. Also, every time a new News item is added, all the older ones get moved down - making it less easy to see them.
Those who raid with us .. we have a host of helpful guides on what sort of gems you should be looking for, how to prepare for raids, what we expect from raiders, how to contact us if there is a problem and, most importantly, strategy guides.
I realise that it might take 10-15 minutes out of your day to read up on a boss fight - but that 10 minutes of your time in effect could cause hours and hours of delays for at least 9 other team members.
For example, it means at least 5-10 minutes less for EVERYONE on the raid who has to wait while the fight is explained to those who didn't read up. As talking about a fight is never as good as reading specifics, it also leads to less dps (dps always improves once you are confident about tactics), more individual deaths, more raid wipes, yet more discussion on tactics, less boss kills, less progression, lower morale and less loot. All of this adds up the fact that, if you had spent an extra 10 minutes reading up, it would have saved 9 other people (including yourself) hours of time, expense, preparation and mats.
It takes hours and hours of time to compile and maintain this website - it is there for YOU - there is a host of information about achievements, raids, levelling characters, levelling professions, playing certain classes and roles and many many more - all within this website. If you can't find what you are looking for - please ask. I can either make it easier to find or, if it isn't here, can incorporate it. Then next time, you will know exactly where to look for it, and others can benefit from the same information.
We have members of the guild, and you know who you are, who would benefit immensely from visiting this site - and would benefit the guild by doing so - yet haven't been for a month, two months ... one, until yesterday, hadn't visited for almost 6 months. So please, make the effort. I can guarantee it will save you time in the long run. And, as a knock on effect, it will save the time of virtually every contributing member of the guild

Haha!
What a bunch of numpties.
Clearly it's a joke - clearly we're in the same guild - clearly we must "know" each other and these jokers stick their oars in with their unwelcome seriousness!

I see you on all the time Kad!
Though as I rarely see you post anything I assume you have access to some hidden forum where you spend your time doing impressions of the rest of us!

Guilty sorry I've not been popping along, just life getting in the way. Glad to see all the new bosses downed and new people joining DW.
I will make a concerted effort to keep this on my top sites list and visit more often!

Ahh .. thats partly my fault .. I've actually set his browser to open up not only his normal home page, but also, on another tab, this website. There's no guarantee he's actually paid any attention to it tho

Cool - it woiuld be much appreciated - even if it is just to keep on top of any changes or news! Feel free to post stuff on the forums if you like - doesn't have to be game related - even if you wanted to post some of your lovely photos, they would be welcomed :-)

Good idea ... if there are a few interested, I can set up a seperate section in the forums for pvp related information - you can find out who is interested there, together with what gear and stats are needed, tactics, etc.
