Guildlaunch have teamed up with Funcom to offer us the opportunity to be considered for inclusion in the current Beta for their game The Secret World.

I received the following message from Guildlaunch:

At the very least, if we are chosen, we get the chance to try out the game AND receive a FIVE YEAR subscription for this website, free.

I've had a look at the website and preview video (below) for this game, and it looks like it has huge potential - the graphics look good, you can use modern weapons and/or magic and they're boasting a completely free-ranging game environment.

Regardless of whether or not we receive this offer, you can still sign up for a beta place on their website.

If anyone wants to try out the beta (and it sounds like it is pretty close to release - this is the last beta weekend they're apparently going to do) - I have one spare code if anyone would like it.

Please send me a PM if interested and I'll send you the code and link. Please bear in mind that it is a fairly hefty download - about 12Gb if I recall correctly - so you might not want to try it if you have a restrictive internet package or a capacity problem on your hard drives!

Reading between the lines, I'm assuming there is a lot more to this game than just the PvP element - hopefully I'll find out over the weekend
