re: Calendar Refresher

I'd just like to take the time to remind people how sign-ups work on the guild calendar.

When you first put your name to an event, you have three options:

"Yes, I'll be there"
"I don't know"
"No, not able to attend"

Generally, if you won't be able to attend, you don't need to put your name to the event anyway, so the relevant options are the top two.

If you put your name down as available, then there is a fair chance that you will be picked to be part of the raid group, depending on class and role requirements of the fights we will be attempting, and those who have already been accepted. Also, if we have more than 10 people state they are available to raid, obviously not all will be picked, however, attempts will be made to ensure that, if anyone sits out one day, they will be picked the next time.

Those who sign up as definitely wanting to attend, who are not picked as part of the raid team, will be placed on "standby". We still expect those who are placed on standby to be online at raid start time, ready to raid if need be, in case of any last minute changes to the group - ie, someone has been called to work, or not turned up, etc.

If you are either in the accepted raid team group, or standby, and then fail to come online at the relevant time with no notice, you run the risk of being less likely to be picked next time, as you may be deemed unreliable. You are disappointing 9 other people and letting down the team.

There are multiple ways of letting us know if you're unable to attend, including in-game mail or direct chat, putting a message up on this website, sending a private message to myself, letting others know in guild, in order that they can pass the message on. You can also change your status on the Armories.

Finally .. those who sign up as tentative (ie, they're unsure if they're able/wish to attend) will remain on a tentative status. They will not be picked as part of the raid team, but we assume that those on tentative, if they later discover they can raid, will try their best to be there at raid start time and notify us of their willingness to raid.

Please be aware that, despite appearances to the contrary, none of us can read minds .. if you change your mind and decide you can attend, please either tell us (myself or one of the officers), or simply change your status on the calendar.

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask ... we don't know if you don't tell us wink
