Patch 5.3 Loot Specialization Drops

As you can see from the above, Blizzard are currently testing the option to choose what sort of loot drops in the newer instances/raids.

Currently, when you enter an instance/raid, the loot that drops is relative to your current spec. With this new feature, you'll be able to choose which spec loot should be valid for .. and you can change this within an instance whilst out of combat. So you could choose tank gear to drop from one boss and healer gear from the next (assuming luck is with you!).



It will certainly make it easier to get gear for an off-spec.

That sounds pretty cool, as it also gives you a reason to run LFR once you've got eveything you need. Good for all us tanks that don't want the aggravation and abuse you get when tanking LFR
