re: Raid Etiquette Reminder
on 30-05-2013 6:02
Can I please remind all raiders of a few basic rules that we hope people can try to stick to:
Sign up for raids ... if you don't sign, we don't know you want to go!
Sign up for raids (2) .. it's not good if we have to cancel raids, so if you can come to help out on a raid, please sign up - even if you just sign as "tentative".
Turn up for raids ... If you have signed up, regardless of whether or not your name has been "accepted", please log in prior to raid time, ready to go. There is often occasion when circumstances force an "accepted" raid member to withdraw, meaning we rely on any on Standby to take up the slack.
If you've signed "tentative" and change your mind one way or another, change your status on the calendar - ideally with more than a couple of hours notice.
If you've signed as definite and you change your mind, please let the raid organiser know as soon as you know.
If you have been accepted for a raid and you can no longer make it, or you're going to be late, please let us know the specifics (ie, if you're going to be late .. HOW late) ... there are multiple ways to contact us: in-game via guild chat, whisper, in-game mail (please send in-game mails to the person organising the raid); Private Message on this website; a forum post on this website; a message via Facebook .. either on the page or via Direct Message; personal message if you know someone IRL who can get a message to us in-game.
If you sign up for a raid .. even if you're tentative or on Standby, make sure you are ready to go at raid time. This includes having your own food, flasks, enchants, gems, glyphs, etc. Those who have reached the Werewolf rank are able to access our raiding materials, which are purchased with guild money or donated by guild members ... anyone else should use their own funds for supplies.
PLEASE bear in mind that a raid involves 10 REAL people .. they're all relying on each other to be there, on time, ready to pull their weight. If you're unable to do the above for any reason, not only are you letting yourself look bad, you're also inconveniencing 9 other real people, not to mention the amount of time and effort someone has made in order to organise the raid and get 10 people with the relevant roles together at the same time.
I do of course realise that the majority of raid members do all of the above, and more, without even thinking about it ... but it is worth sticking a reminder out, occasionally
