It should go without saying, however, if you've not yet run through the most recent content on WoW on Darkshore, and want to avoid spoilers, you might not wish to press "play" on this video.
If you HAVE played through the recent content, and are up on the current lore/storyline, and potentially what may be coming in the very near future, then it's well worth a watch:
I love that Blizzard are making a story that gets people interacting .. even if its because people are riled up by it.
Personally, I chose horde specifically because it felt like the underdog .. we've always felt persecuted and targeted, even though, at the end of the day, our goal is basically the right to exist and "live" (be "born", live life, die peacefully) without being hunted.
There will always be individuals of each faction that go against that principle .. but I still feel that horde is home and still remains as it was when I chose it .. what about you?
i kinda had a theory hit me at speed today, was playing through the stormheim quests as my alliance DK (to see things from the other side) and though, maybe THIS is where the battle for azeroth actually started
the war of thorns is considered to be the start but that's really only if you forget the events of stormheim. this is mostly me going through the thought patterns of sylvanus, a known sociopath. in stormheim sylvanas is out to find an item that will not only bring her true immortality, but will also safeguard her people, giving them a future. in traveling to stormheim however the alliance (under orders from goody goody anduin, and command of greymane) ambushes them, and this is before they even find out the true purpose of them being there. so greymane has now just attempted to assassinate the horde warchief, at a time when the two sides are supposed to be working together, in a fairly dis-honorable attack. he then proceeds to seriously interfere with her plans to the point of eventually thwarting her, thus (in her eyes) damning her, and dooming the forsaken, her people. this could (again in her eyes) be taken as a fairly epic declaration of war, and a pretty big atrocity. this then leads her to upping the anti by targeting the group that sheltered the worgen and helped alleviate their curse
i think a lot of people have forgotten past events, hell, the alliance had concentration camps and Jaina killed all the blood elves in dalaran once upon a time, not to say the horde haven't done their fair share of badness. All i can say, is that imagine if Blizz had actually made the burning of Teldrasil an quest that we took an active part in. Everyone's throwing toys because she did it, if the quest had us as players putting the torch to the tree. People would be dropping bricks.
