How to Use the Calendar
Can I remind people that signing up to events on the calendar indicates a definite commitment to attend those events. If you do not think you'll be able to make it, please sign as tentative. If you sign up and then later realise you cannot attend, please let a moderator of the event know (indicated by the "crown" to the side of the name - usually the event creator, but sometimes others).
There are multiple ways to contact us .. via this site, via twitter, via Facebook, via in-game message.
Not turning up, turning up late, changing your mind at the last minute, or arriving unprepared is basically rather inconsiderate, taking into account the amount of time and effort that goes into organising these events.
Even worse than this, is if an event is being organised with people outside of our guild. It shows us in a bad light as being disorganised and unreliable.
Please be aware that, as events take a lot of time to organise, there will often be additional information posted either on this website or on our Facebook page.
Anything REALLY important that is put on this website will also be linked on our Facebook page.
Facebook is also used for more short-term information such as competitions, reminders for raids, various short-term offers, etc.
Our Facebook site is also linked to Twitter, meaning that any posts on Facebook are put onto our Twitter feed as well - so if you really can't bring yourself to check this site daily, at the very least subscribe to our Facebook/Twitter feeds (and then check them regularly!).
As our guild info states in-game .. "ignorance is no excuse"!!
In short .. we expect you to regularly check our web presence; we expect you to treat calendar events and those organising them with respect.

To be fair, I did get a message from one person saying that they couldn't make it due to a prior commitment that they had forgotten about. My fault - I should have updated the event on calendar at the time. I'm happy for anyone to contact or PM me via Facebook - I assume I can be found via the DW Facebook page (Tim Beasley, if anyone wants to add me - but please state that you're a DW person, otherwise I might ignore the request).

Can I take from the image you chose that you are a little peeved on this one PE?? :P
To be honest I totally agree and would be mortified if I signed up and then forgot to log in or forgot to tell someone about it, everyone needs to remember that there may be 9 other people (if not more) that are hoping everyone will turn up otherwise no one will be doing stuff and that its real people they are letting down even if it is 'just a game' its not nice to be stood up in game or in real life!!
Anyway, my two penneth and sorry I am not around much at the moment hopefully once the puppy has settled in more and the kids all stop throwing up and passing their sickness bugs on I will be back and ready to heal! I still try to grab a few mins/hours here and there to keep up to date with gear and stuff.

Yes you should be traceable via the Facebook page, as long as they know who to look for. We also have a "contact us" page on this site where people can PM officers, but unfortunately this option is rather hit 'n' miss at the moment .. in theory what is supposed to happen is that, if anyone receives a Private Message on the website, that person should then receive an automated email from the site with a copy of the message, but it doesn't always seem to work.

Just a tad
It was just the fact that there were so many that had failed .. we had various combinations of not turning up at all, turning up late, turning up but changing their mind last minute, turning up unprepared .. it was just a massive demonstration of all the the things you just shouldn't do.
We need more raiders in the guild really, in order to improve our chances of (a) going in the first place and (b) improving our progression ... turning up to a joint raid where members of several other guilds are attending, being this unprepared and disorganised, really does nothing for our reputation. We're supposed to be out there looking for more good people - this was not the way to go about it.
Anyway, I've calmed down a little bit now - just annoyed that my UI broke at about the same time so all I've been doing for the last couple of days is trying to fix it
I saw on Facebook that you've become the plague capital of the world - it must be a nightmare at the moment - but don't worry, here's something to help you: http://sicksack.com/ ... I love the disclaimer ... "none have been used" ...
